Some towel toppers and Pineapple dishcloths that were paired up with the Memorial Afghans for Christmas.
This is going to be a lot of everything from now on (4/12) since life has changed so drastically in the last few years.

Jar Covers
OK... got a pic to post of one of my jar covers actually on a jar. Also a pic with a quart jar cover in it for size comparison. The ones on the left side of the picture are for his taller gallons and have a different color of drawstring row so he can tell the difference without having to get out a ruler or counting the rows every time. I wish I could line all of them up he already has and take a pic of them. It's a lot of jar covers!!! There is no pattern, just rows of DC, that's all.

ADDED PIC:11/19 He sent me a pic of 4 of them

Instant Afghans for Charity ...
They are finally done.....
WOW!! Thank you so much ladies! We ended up with a total of 7... count them 7 afghans for our 1st ever Instant Afghan for Charity! That is 140 squares!!! I am still so overwhelmed with the generosity of our ladies and look forward to doing another one in the future!
I must admit, the move knocked my schedule off completely, but they are now done and will be presented to the Lions Children's Miracle Network Guest House this week.
I hung them out on on our fence yesterday and as soon as I got the first 3 up ... it started winding and then started raining! So I took a few quick pics and then laundered them all. They are so soft and lovely now! I want to keep them for myself! I sure do hope they brighten someones day! Thank you again ladies and look forward to doing it again!
You can click on each picture and make it larger... find your squares ladies !!!
Well... here they are all nice and layed out on my sofa.

Moved....
Wow... Finally... a place I can call home and be at peace. I can actually say I want to go home and not cringe at the thought of it! I will forever be thankful to her for giving me a place to stay, but it ends there. The abuse I took over the last 2 years was uncalled for and is totally unforgivable.
But back to the move.....
What a trying time it was to finally get here. We were originally told it would be up to 3 months before we would be notified about a place and they called and said come in the next day for all the financial stuff and Viola... we were told we got into one!!! WOW! Talk about panic... There were so many things that needed to be done and we had very little time and zero cooperation from anyone! It was unreal. Then after we got over the first HUGE stumbling block, we found a 2nd one... got over it and found yet another one. I was starting to think God wanted me to continue to be punished for my entire life's wrong doings and with the help of a very good friend of mine and the ladies in my group, we did it! We signed the lease and got the keys.
Then another hurdle... The person (we all know who that is) that was going to move us fell through so we had to wait for a 24 foot moving truck to be available and finally got one last Thursday. YEAH!!! FINALLY MOVING!!!!
Well... the fun goes on.....
My fingers are still raw from scrubbing the walls and ceiling in the bathroom and kitchen/bedroom area. Ya know... the little blistery rash we all get on our fingers sometimes from too much cleaning with no gloves!!! Ouch!
Threw my back out first thing off the bat loading the truck.... yee haw.. having fun now! Then after getting the truck loaded was putting the loading ramp back in and it stopped while I was still moving and ouchie.... bruised ribs! On top of that I had the start of an intestinal virus, so we had a real fun time moving.
But we are moved and much happier now! No more listening to crankiness all day everyday. What a huge relief! I am sleeping wonderfully for the first time in a very long time, I have not had but one small little headache since we moved instead of pounding headaches everyday! Much more peaceful! I can ride my bike to work and to the store, I don't have to wait for anyone to take me when THEY want to take me, no more doing with out because I didn't want to have to listen to anyone bitch at me, no waiting for them to go and then having to literally run through the store so I wouldn't get bitched at for taking to long or getting yelled at because I wanted to go down an isle that the person wasn't going down. So nice to be able to do what I want when I want without being ragged at, ridiculed, put down or anything else. So very nice!
And a huge plus, my Daughter and I have been getting along wonderfully! I am so very happy about that too and my grand babies are much happier here! They love, love, love the new place. They especially like coming in and getting Grandma up every morning! I am loving it too!!
Thank you to you all for all of your prayers and support during this time! I would have been lost without you all!!!

My Hot out of the oven Chicken Pot Pie ... with recipe
This is the lattice version... |
And this is full crust. Love it both ways!!! |
YUMMY! It is so good and so easy to make....
Chicken Pot Pie
2-3 lbs boneless skinless Chicken Breast
1 – 15 oz package refrigerated Pie Crusts
¼ cup Butter
1 garlic clove crushed or very finely chopped
1 large Onion very finely chopped
3-5 TBS All Purpose Flour
1 ½ - 2 cups Chicken Broth
½ - 3/4 cup Heavy Cream (can use milk)
1-2 cups frozen hash browns
½ - 16 oz bag frozen corn
1/2 – 16 oz bag of frozen peas and carrots
1 Egg Yolk
1 TBS Water
Salt and pepper to taste and any other seasonings you like
1. Preheat oven to 425. Place Chicken in a large saucepan, add enough cool water to cover. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer until just cooked through, about 10 minutes. Drain the Chicken and let it cool. When cooled a little bit cube it up.
2. Meanwhile, fit one piece of the crust into a 9 inch deep dish pie plate, set aside. Roll out the remaining piece of crust on a lightly floured surface and slice into1/2 inch strips and set aside.
3. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, cook stirring for 3 minutes. Whisk in the flour, cook stirring for 2 minutes. Add the broth and cream, whisk until thickened. Remove from heat, stir in the chicken, frozen peas and carrots corn, hash browns OR ANY other veggie you'd like, it is especially good with broccoli too, salt and pepper to taste.
4. Spoon the filling into the prepared pie pan. Arrange the pie crust strips in the same direction on top of the pie, twisting them as you go and then n the other way. Fold the edges under and crimp to seal. OR Just cover the top with pie dough and crimp edges to seal and be sure to slice vent holes or make a design in the top for steam venting.
5. Beat the egg yolk and water. Brush the pastry with the egg mixture, place the pie on a baking sheet and place in the oven. Bake until the pie crust is golden and the filling is bubbly, about 45 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes and serve.
Enjoy! Let me know if you try it.
